Kaleidoscope by Ray Bradbury

Posted at 5:58 PM under Other Class work

I asked my boyfriend what short stories were his favorites because he reads a lot. The first one that came to mind was Kaleidoscope by Ray Bradbury. I read Kaleidoscope first and then just about all the Bradbury stories I could find online. Reading others made it a hard choice but I just couldn’t stop thinking about Kaleidoscope.

I haven’t read “Kaleidoscope,” but I can get behind Ray Bradbury, so it sounds good. You’ll probably also be able to discuss the science fictional aspects of the story (that is–how the story fits the paradigm of American sci fi).

There’s not really any science fiction in this story. It’s about astronauts that get flung into open space when their spaceship explodes. The whole story is the conversations they have while they’re waiting to die.
